Wedding order
Family first, then the board
- 01Pick the room.
Classic is 15 rounds of 10. Barn is two joined runs. Garden mixes six rounds with three cocktail tables.
- 02Name the groups.
A shared Group / Family stays on one table. Must Sit Together joins a couple even when their group cells differ.
- 03Mark who splits.
Keep Apart names a person or a whole group. If the same cluster must sit together and stay apart, nobody in it is seated.
- 04Read the door list.
The A–Z line is free through 400 names. The 24×36 file, with 0.125 inch bleed, is the paid poster.
Reception rooms
Three weddings, three gap stories
The classic head table is 72 by 30 inches and sits at the top of a 60 by 40 foot hall. Its seat count is zero, so the 150 guests never land on it. They fill fifteen 60 inch rounds of 10.
That hall is intentionally tight. Twenty-five chair-back pairs are under 60 inches, and fifteen of those are also under 36 inches. The closest gap is 12 inches, beside the dance floor.
The barn is the calm counter-example. Ten 8 foot tables form a north run and a south run. Ends that share a run are not checked against each other. The path between the runs is exactly 60 inches, so the count is zero.
The garden is the small wedding. Guests 001–048 sit as six families of 8 on the rounds. Guests 049–060 sit as three families of 4 on the cocktail tables. Six child seats follow the every-tenth-guest rule.
| Example | Families | Seats | Closest gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | 15 parties of 10 | 150 on rounds, head table empty | 12 in |
| Barn | 10 parties of 8 | 80 on 8 ft tables | 60 in |
| Garden | 6 families of 8, 3 of 4 | 48 plus 12 | 13 in |
Cocktail stools add 12 inches, not 18. A round above a cocktail at the same x leaves a 13 inch chair-back gap, which is why the garden shows 3 tight pairs inside a total of 10.
Parents belong on the nearest seats of the head table, and the couple belongs in the center. If two guests used Keep Apart, they do not share that table either. The checklist is the event seating chart generator page.
Diameters and the comfortable count, which is 8 at a 60 inch round, are on the banquet hall capacity calculator. The packed classic preset uses 10 and shows the red that follows.
When you only need “how many tables,” open the banquet room layout planner. A 60 by 40 foot room fits 12 rounds if every chair back keeps 60 inches and 36 inches off the wall.
Cards for the plate are the table plan template. The open dock draws one sample. The ZIP of every card is paid. The floor plan itself, including this wedding sheet, starts at the event floor plan planner.
The poster pack prints 24×36, 18×24, and A1. Each size has an A–Z board and a by-table board, in modern, classic-serif, and forest type. Crop marks sit at the four trim corners. Bleed is 0.125 inch, or 3 mm on A1.
Sort order is last name, then first name. A single-word name is the last name. “Berg, Eva - Table 1” is the door line. The same order is the poster.
Free assign stops at 400 rows. A paid pack accepts 1 to 1,000 and rebuilds the seats on the server, so the file matches the rule you already saw on the sheet. Nothing is stored after the download.
Questions
Families, the head table, the board
How should families sit at a wedding?
Keep each family on one table. Use Must Sit Together for a couple, and Keep Apart when two people should not share a table. The garden example seats six families of 8 and three families of 4.
Where does the couple sit?
The classic room draws a head table at the top. Those two chairs are furniture, not part of the 150-guest list. The 150 guests fill fifteen rounds of 10.
Can I print a door list before I buy?
You can read the A to Z find-your-seat list on the page for up to 400 guests. The 24 by 36 inch poster file, with bleed and crop marks, is in the paid poster pack.
Does a red aisle mean the room failed an inspection?
No. Red means the chair-back gap is under 60 inches, shown as 1.5 metres. It is a planning mark, not a fire-code or ADA certificate.
